In a recent tweet, Katie Telford linked to an article by The Guardian, which claimed a “watchdog” group had recently decided there were no pro choice candidates left in the Conservative Party.
This watchdog group is the Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada, run by executive director, Joyce Arthur. A quick search of Joyce reveals some interesting facts.

Joyce runs her own blog in which she advocates for abortion rights, but also talks about support for sex work (prostitution) and also discusses political and religious topics. This blog, although still active, hasn’t seen any activity from Joyce since 2017. Obviously, interest was lacking.
Speaking of lacking interest, the ARCC claims to have about 800 members nationwide, and is actively lobbying the government. In the article that appeared in the Guardian, Joyce voiced support for sex-selective abortion, the practice of aborting a child who’s sex you did not prefer.
Even more disturbing is the fact that The Guardian itself published disinformation in the article with the following statement…
“This latest attempt comes less than a year after Pierre Poilievre won the Conservative leadership. During his campaign, he said that he would continue to allow Conservative MPs to introduce anti-abortion private member’s bills, but that he would not pass any legislation restricting abortion.”
Unfortunately for The Guardian, the internet is forever. If anyone believes that Poilievre’s Conservatives would continue too introduce anti abortion bills, please refer to the clip below, taken from the Conservative Leadership Campaign.
In order to support her radical views, Katie Telford has quoted an article that contains false claims and uses a registered lobby group that supports prostitution.
The Liberals government will stop at nothing to distract from their own shortcomings and constant scandals. This includes quoting sources that outright lie.
